Firmware Versions and Updates
Below you can find all the firmware versions we have ever released. You have the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade your firmware in any order you like.
Please note: Downgrading will remove any settings that are not available in the older version from your configuration. These settings will be reset to default values when you upgrade again.
We strongly recommend creating a backup before performing any firmware upgrades or downgrades. This ensures that all your custom settings and presets are safely stored and can be restored if needed.
Firmware Update Instructions
To keep your NAM player up-to-date with the latest features and improvements, please follow the steps below to upgrade or downgrade your firmware. Remember to back up your settings before proceeding to preserve your custom presets.
Step 1: Download the Firmware
- Select the firmware version you wish to install from the list below.
- Download the firmware package to your computer.
Step 2: Prepare the USB Flash Drive
- Format a USB flash drive to FAT32 file system.
- Extract the contents of the downloaded zip file directly into the root directory of the USB flash drive. Ensure the following files are in the base directory (not in any folders):
boot.img
boot.sig
namplayer.fw
Step 3: Connect the USB Flash Drive to the NAM Player
- Insert the prepared USB flash drive into the USB port of your NAM player.
Step 4: Enter Firmware Update Mode
- Press and hold Footswitch 4 on your NAM player.
- While holding the footswitch, plug in the power to the device.
- Continue holding the footswitch until the display turns on. This may take up to 20 seconds.
Step 5: Choose the Update Method
- You will see a menu with two options:
- Update Firmware: Updates the firmware while keeping your current configuration.
- Factory Reset: Updates the firmware and resets your configuration to default settings.
- Recommendation: Choose Update Firmware to retain your settings. Select Factory Reset only if you’re experiencing issues or want to restore the default presets.
Step 6: Confirm Your Selection
- Confirm your chosen method when prompted to proceed with the update.
Step 7: Perform the Firmware Update
- The NAM player will begin the update process, which may take several minutes.
- Important:
- Do not unplug the power or remove the USB flash drive during the update.
- There’s no need to worry about damaging your device. The NAM player is designed so that even if an update is interrupted or if the device doesn’t boot properly, you can always restart the update process using these steps.
